The following questions were posed to VMI by alumni cadets and parents on the dates indicated. Responses provided by VMI are posted when provided by either VMI or the poster of the original question. If you have a question for VMI, please follow these steps to add them:

DATE SUBMITTED - What concerns are you hearing from the faculty that the admissions standards have not been maintained at the same level, and the impact it will have on assistance to this new class being brought in under even lower academic standards?

DATE SUBMITTED - In the last Town Hall you were asked about reports there were cadets with in excess of 200+ to 300+ demerits and said you would look into it. Nothing ever came out on this. Prior to the amnesty granted by the Governor, how many cadets had over 100 but less than 200 demerits, over 200 but less than 300, 300 or more? Of these, what is the breakout between NCAA athletes and non-NCAA athletes? How does this compare to the last 4 years?

DATE SUBMITTED - In the last Towne Hall you stated that it is the Superintendent’s decision to suspend or not suspend a cadet with 100 demerits ( the cutoff for suspension) or more. Prior to the Governor granting amnesty, how many cadets had 100 demerits or more that were suspended and how many did the superintendent allow to remain? What is the breakout of each of those by NCAA athlete and non-NCAA athlete? How does this compare to the last 4 years?
